For practicing dermatology physicians and residents interested in being part of the Skin of Color Society’s Mentorship Program, here is a short article for what you may encounter as a Mentor, and what can be expected from this experience. Please fill out the form below to share your interest in serving as a SOCS mentor for the March 2024 – March 2025 program cycle.

  • Mentor Information

    The Mentorship Program is intended to provide mentees with a mentor with interest in the field of skin of color dermatology.
    Membership or pending-membership of the Skin of Color Society is a requirement for eligibility. Please complete your SOCS membership application before proceeding with the Mentorship application. https://www.registration123.com/SOCS/MEMBERSHIP/
  • The Mentorship Program is intended to provide mentees with a mentor with interest in the field of skin of color dermatology. When possible, the SOCS Mentorship Committee will match you with a mentee with similar areas of interest to you, however this is not the primary goal of the mentor/mentee relationship.
  • Mentorship Information

  • I am submitting my Mentor Interest form for the 2024-2025 SOCS program year beginning in March 2024.

  • Please confirm your agreement with the following Mentor Role expectations.

    As a SOCS Mentor, you will be matched with a mentee - young physician or medical student - for a one-year term starting in March 2024. Some of the program expectations are outlined below.

    - Conduct professional development meetings (in-person or virtual) 3 to 4 times per year to discuss goal-setting, practical ways to increase knowledge in skin of color.

    - Build a positive working relationship with your mentee.

    - Attend the SOCS Annual Scientific Symposium with your mentee (if possible).
